Post‑marital Līlā of Śiva and Satī
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
The verse sanctifies sincere inquiry: a compassionate seeker’s doubt becomes the doorway to śravaṇa (devotional listening) of Śiva-līlā, which in Śaiva Siddhānta is a purifying means that turns the mind toward Pati (Śiva) and loosens pāśa (bondage).
By introducing “Śiva-līlānuvarṇana,” Brahmā frames Saguna Śiva as accessible through narrative and devotion; such hearing naturally supports Linga-bhakti, where the devotee approaches the visible symbol while contemplating the Lord’s divine acts and grace.
The implied practice is regular śravaṇa/manana of Śiva-kathā (listening and reflection), ideally alongside japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to steady attention on Śiva while receiving the teaching.
