वरांग्युवाच । चेत् प्रसन्नोऽभवस्त्वं वै सुतं मे देहि सत्पते । महाबलं त्रिलोकस्य जेतारं हरिदुःखदम्
varāṃgyuvāca | cet prasanno'bhavastvaṃ vai sutaṃ me dehi satpate | mahābalaṃ trilokasya jetāraṃ hariduḥkhadam
Sinabi ng marangal na babae (Pārvatī): “Kung tunay Kang naging mahabagin, O banal na Panginoon, ipagkaloob Mo sa akin ang isang anak na lalaki—may dakilang lakas, mananakop ng tatlong daigdig, at mag-aalis ng dalamhati ni Hari (Viṣṇu).”

The verse assumes Saguna Śiva—the compassionate Lord who listens, becomes pleased, and grants boons. Such personal devotion is central to Purāṇic Śaiva worship, including Linga-upāsanā, where the devotee seeks Śiva’s favor for dharmic ends.
The takeaway is prayerful bhakti aimed at Śiva’s grace—classically supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and simple Linga-pūjā with purity, humility, and a dharmic intention.
