Rig Veda 7.42.6: Mandala 7, Sukta 42, Mantra 6

Sukta 7.42

Rishi: Vasiṣṭha
Devata: Agni (with a concluding collective appeal to the assisting Powers: ‘yūyam pāta’)
Chandas: Tr̥ṣṭubh (probable for RV 7.42; verse length and cadence consistent)

एवाग्निं सहस्यं वसिष्ठो रायस्कामो विश्वप्स्न्यस्य स्तौत् । इषं रयिं पप्रथद्वाजमस्मे यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

evā́gniṁ sahasyàṁ váṣiṣṭho rāyáskāmo viśvápsnyasyá staut | íṣaṁ rayíṁ paprathád vā́jam asmè yūyáṁ pāta svastíbhíḥ sadā́ naḥ ||

Thus Vasiṣṭha, desiring the fullness of being, has praised Agni the puissant, the one of all-effective workings. May he widen for us the impulsion and the inner riches, and the plenitude of force; you Powers, guard us always with your harmonies of well-being.
