निकुम्भिला-यज्ञविघ्नोपदेशः
Counsel to Disrupt the Nikumbhilā Rite
एषतंनरशार्दूलोरावणिंनिशितैश्शरैः ।त्याजयिष्यतितत्कर्मततोवध्योभविष्यति ।।।।
eṣa taṃ naraśārdūlo rāvaṇiṃ niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ |
tyājayiṣyati tat karma tato vadhyo bhaviṣyati ||
Ang tigre sa mga tao na ito ay papaurungin ang anak ni Rāvaṇa sa matalim na mga palaso, upang iwan niya ang ritwal na iyon; kapag napilitang tumigil, saka siya magiging mapapatay.
Accompanied by the four ministers surrounded by four ministers resembling leaders of elephants, who looked dark like collyrium, Vibheeshana came to high-souled Rama. He witnessed Vanaras whose eyes were filled with tears.
Righteous action targets the source of unjust power: stopping an adharma-enabling rite restores fairness and makes the wrongdoer accountable.
Vibhīṣaṇa explains the tactical necessity: Indrajit must be interrupted before completion of the Nikumbhilā sacrifice, otherwise he becomes nearly invincible.
Valor in service of dharma—Lakṣmaṇa’s decisive courage is presented as the means to neutralize an unrighteous advantage.
