Indrajit’s Brahmastra Rite and the Crushing of the Vanara Host
स्वयम्भुवादत्तवरोमहात्मा ।समाहितोन्तर्हितभीमकायः ।कथंनुशक्योयुधिनष्टदेहोनिहन्तुमद्येन्द्रजिदुद्यतास्त्रः ।।।।
svayambhuvā dattavaro mahātmā |
samāhito 'ntarhitabhīmakāyaḥ |
kathaṃ nu śakyo yudhi naṣṭadeho
nihantum adyendrajid udyatāstraḥ ||
“Paano nga ba mapapatay ngayon sa digmaan si Indrajit—siya na pinagkalooban ng mga biyaya ng Sariling-Isinilang (Brahmā), matatag ang loob, nagkukubli ng kanyang kakila-kilabot na anyo, di-nakikita ang kanyang katawan, at lumalaban na laging nakataas ang mga sandata?”
"How can it be possible now to destroy that great Indrajith who is conferred with boons of invincibility by the creator Brahma, who is steadfast and is concealed in dreadful form with weapons uplifted?"
Dharma includes humility before reality: acknowledging an opponent’s extraordinary protections prevents reckless action and supports righteous, measured decision-making.
Rāma explains the difficulty of killing Indrajit because of boons and concealment during combat.
Discernment (viveka): Rāma evaluates the battlefield conditions and the enemy’s advantages without denial.
