तंपुरस्तात् स्थितंदृष्टवावानरंपर्वतोपमम् ।आजघानोरसिक्रुद्धोगदयावज्रकल्पया ।।।।
taṃ purastāt sthitaṃ dṛṣṭvā vānaraṃ parvatopamam |
ājaghānorasi kruddho gadayā vajrakalpayā ||6.70.56||
Nang makita ang vānara na nakatayo sa kanyang harapan na parang bundok, hinampas siya ng galit na rākṣasa sa dibdib gamit ang isang maso na parang kidlat.
Again, seeing Rshaba standing in front like a mountain, enraged Mahaparsva hit him on the chest with the mace that was like a thunderbolt.
The verse contrasts steadfastness with rage: Ṛṣabha stands firm, while the foe acts from anger. Dharma values courage with discipline, not violence driven by krodha.
The rākṣasa responds to Ṛṣabha’s challenge by delivering a crushing blow to his chest.
Ṛṣabha’s steadfast bravery is implied; the opponent’s defining trait here is wrathful aggression.
