Counsel of the Rakshasa Court to Ravana
अनेनहिमहाराजमहेश्वरमनुत्तमम् ।इष्ट्वायज्ञंवरोलब्धोलोकेपरमदुर्लभः ।।।।
anena hi mahārāja maheśvaram anuttamam | iṣṭvā yajñaṃ varo labdho loke parama-durlabhaḥ ||
Sapagkat siya, O dakilang hari, ay sumamba sa kataas-taasang Maheshvara sa pamamagitan ng paghahandog; at nagkamit siya ng isang biyaya—na lubhang bihira sa daigdig.
"Oh! Great King! By performing supreme sacrifices, Indrajith obtained boons from Lord Maheswara, which are very difficult to get."
Divine favor and ritual power are not dharma by themselves; dharma depends on how power is used—boons become ethically meaningful only when aligned with righteousness and truth.
