Ravana Dispatches Vajradamshtra; Portents and Angada’s Assault
निघ्नतोराक्षसान्दृष्टवासर्वान्वालिसुतोरणे ।क्रोधेनवदिगुणाविष्टःसंवर्तकइवानलः ।।।।
nighnato rākṣasān dṛṣṭvā sarvān vālisuto raṇe |
krodhena dviguṇāviṣṭaḥ saṃvartaka ivānalaḥ ||
Nang makita niyang pinupuksa ng mga Rākṣasa ang hukbo ng mga Vānara sa labanan, si Aṅgada, anak ni Vāli, ay sinakmal ng dobleng poot—nagniningas na parang apoy ng pagkalusaw sa wakas ng sanlibutan—at nagpasiyang lipulin ang mga Rākṣasa.
Mighty Vajradamshtra, who was endowed with the skill of using every kind of weapon, deluded with anger, went after the Vanara army.
Aṅgada’s surge is framed as protective response: dharma includes defending one’s community and allies when they are being unjustly slaughtered, while still recognizing anger’s dangerous power.
