Indrajit’s Concealed Assault and the Fall of Rama and Lakshmana
ततःपर्यन्तरक्ताक्षोभिन्नाञ्जनचयोपमः ।रावणिर्भ्रातरौवाक्यमन्तर्धानगतोऽब्रवीत् ।।6.45.10।।
tataḥ paryantaraktākṣo bhinnāñjanacayopamaḥ | rāvaṇir bhrātarau vākyam antardhānagato 'bravīt ||
Pagkaraan, si Rāvaṇi—ang mga sulok ng kanyang mga mata’y namumula, at ang anyo’y maitim na tila dinurog na koliryo—ay naglaho sa paningin at nagsalita ng mga salitang ito sa magkapatid.
Then Ravana's son with the corner of his eyes turned red in anger looking like a huge collyrium, vanished from there and spoke these words to the two brothers, Rama, and Lakshmana.
The verse contrasts dharmic openness with adharmic concealment: the antagonist relies on stealth and intimidation rather than honorable engagement.
Indrajit becomes invisible and begins addressing Rama and Lakshmana while hidden, setting up his attack.
On the negative side, it highlights the vice of deceit; by contrast, Rama-Lakshmana’s dharma is implied as straightforward courage.
