Public Opinion and Royal Duty
tataḥ priyāraha-śravaṇātad-apriyaṁ paryādupaśrutya ciraṁ sā maithilī | mumoca bāṣpaṁ subhṛśaṁ pravepitā gajenadāra-hasta-ābhihatā iva sallakī ||
Nang marinig ni Maithilī mula sa minamahal ang mga salitang masakit pakinggan, siya’y umiyak nang matagal; nanginginig siya nang matindi at nagbuhos ng saganang luha, na wari’y baging na hinampas ng kamay na tila punò ng isang makapangyarihang elepante.
