The Fierce Chariot-Duel of Rama and Ravana
रामस्यतुरगान्दीप्तै: शरैर्विव्याथरावणः ।तेदिव्याहरयस्तत्रनास्खलन्नापिबभ्रमुः ।।6.109.15।।बभूवुःस्वस्थहृदयाःपद्मनालैरिवाहताः ।
rāmasya turagān dīptaiḥ śarair vivyātha rāvaṇaḥ |
te divyā harayas tatra nāskhalan nāpi babhramuḥ ||6.109.15||
babhūvuḥ svastha-hṛdayāḥ padma-nālair ivāhatāḥ |
Tinuhog ni Rāvaṇa ng nagliliyab na mga palaso ang mga kabayo ni Rāma; ngunit ang mga maringal na kabayong iyon ay hindi natisod ni nanginig—payapa ang puso, na para bang tangkay ng lotus lamang ang tumama.
Ravana perceived that the horses were just unperturbed by his arrows, became enraged and showered arrows excessively.
Steadfastness under attack: dharmic allies remain composed and do not collapse in fear when facing harm.
Rāvaṇa attacks Rāma’s chariot-horses, but they remain miraculously unperturbed.
Courage and steadiness (dhairya)—symbolically reflected even in Rāma’s team and equipment aligned with dharma.
