Puruṣottama-kṣetra Māhātmya: Śveta-Mādhava & Matsya-Mādhava; Mārkaṇḍeya-tīrtha Mārjana and Bath Liturgy
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada on the supremacy of Vishnu-mantra in Uttara-Bhaga context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It declares the primacy of single-pointed devotion: the Vishnu-mantra “Namo Nārāyaṇāya” is presented as sufficient for accomplishing all legitimate human aims, without chasing numerous techniques.
Bhakti is shown as simplicity and surrender—salutation to Nārāyaṇa through japa—rather than an exhibition of intellectual or ritual complexity; the heart’s orientation matters more than multiplying mantras.
It implies a Vyākaraṇa-style clarity of mantra-use: choose an authoritative, well-formed mantra and practice steady japa; the verse discourages excessive, showy mantra-accumulation rather than teaching a technical Vedāṅga procedure.
