The Procedure for Offering Piṇḍa (Funerary Rice-balls) — Gayā-māhātmya
ब्रह्महत्यादिपापौ३ घघातनाय विमुक्तये । अनेन स्नानपूजादि कुर्याच्छ्राद्धं सपिंडकम् ॥ ७९ ॥
brahmahatyādipāpau3 ghaghātanāya vimuktaye | anena snānapūjādi kuryācchrāddhaṃ sapiṃḍakam || 79 ||
Upang wasakin ang bunton ng mga kasalanan na nagsisimula sa brahmahatyā (pagpatay sa isang brāhmaṇa) at upang makamit ang paglaya, sa pamamagitan ng ritwal na ito ay dapat gawin ang banal na pagligo, pagsamba at iba pa, at isagawa rin ang śrāddha kasama ang mga ritong sapiṇḍīkaraṇa.
