वत्सं भारेण कुर्वीत भाराभ्यां मध्यमा स्मृता । अर्द्धभारेण वत्सः स्यात्कनिष्ठा भारकेण तु ॥ ८ ॥
vatsaṃ bhāreṇa kurvīta bhārābhyāṃ madhyamā smṛtā | arddhabhāreṇa vatsaḥ syātkaniṣṭhā bhārakeṇa tu || 8 ||
Ihanda ang sukat na tinatawag na vatsa (guya) na may bigat na isang bhāra. Ang ‘katamtaman’ ay dalawang bhāra. Ang ‘maliit’ na vatsa ay kalahating bhāra, at ang ‘pinakamababa’ ay isang bhāraka.
