Kāpila Tīrtha

FAQs

It declares the extraordinary potency of tīrtha-snāna: bathing at Kāpila Tīrtha is said to yield merit comparable to a vast act of charity, highlighting tīrthas as concentrated sources of dharmic purification.

While not explicitly naming Vishnu-bhakti, it supports the bhakti-oriented Purāṇic framework where humble, faith-filled observances—like reverent bathing at a sacred place—become accessible means to accumulate puṇya and prepare the heart for devotion.

It reflects Kalpa-oriented ritual logic (dharma-prayoga): tīrtha-snāna is treated as a prescribed act with a stated phala, and the verse uses the Purāṇic metric of merit-comparison (snāna-phala equated to go-dāna).
