Śāpaprāpti (Receiving a Curse) — Mohinī Narrative
Devas (the gods)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights dharma through the idea of ṛṇa (moral obligation): even divine beings acknowledge indebtedness for help and seek to repay it, affirming gratitude and ethical reciprocity as sacred conduct.
While not directly teaching bhakti practices, it supports a bhakti-aligned virtue: humility and gratitude. Recognizing help received and responding with service mirrors the devotional attitude of offering (sevā) in return for grace.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught in this line; the practical takeaway is dharma-nīti—repaying benefaction and maintaining social-sacred order through ethical responsibility.
