Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates atithi-dharma (honoring a guest) to a sacred vow: welcoming a guest is treated as a direct opportunity to practice selflessness and merit-bearing generosity.
By implying that service and giving are offerings in spirit—when done without hesitation to a worthy guest, they cultivate humility and surrender, qualities that support Vishnu-bhakti even when Vishnu is not explicitly named in the verse.
It reflects dharma-sūtra style sadācāra (right conduct) rather than a technical Vedanga: the practical rule is immediate hospitality and readiness to give to an arriving guest.
