The Description of Mārkaṇḍeya
श्रूयते च पुराणेषु मार्कण्डेयो महामुनिः । अपश्यद्वैष्णवीं मायां चिरञ्जीव्यस्य संप्लवे ॥ २ ॥
śrūyate ca purāṇeṣu mārkaṇḍeyo mahāmuniḥ | apaśyadvaiṣṇavīṃ māyāṃ cirañjīvyasya saṃplave || 2 ||
Naririnig din sa mga Purāṇa na ang dakilang muni na si Mārkaṇḍeya ay nakakita ng Vaiṣṇavī māyā, ang banal na hiwaga ni Viṣṇu, sa panahon ng kosmikong delubyo na dumating sa yaong mahabang-buhay.
