न चद्विजा तिशुश्रूषां कुर्वंति चरणोद्भवाः । द्विजातिधर्मान्गृह्णन्ति पाखण्डलिङ्गिनोऽधमाः ॥ ५४ ॥
na cadvijā tiśuśrūṣāṃ kurvaṃti caraṇodbhavāḥ | dvijātidharmāngṛhṇanti pākhaṇḍaliṅgino'dhamāḥ || 54 ||
At ang mga isinilang mula sa mga paa ay hindi maglilingkod sa mga dalawang-ulit-na-ipinanganak; samantalang ang pinakababa—na may mga tanda ng mga sektang erehe—ay aagawin ang mga tungkulin at gawi na para sa mga dalawang-ulit-na-ipinanganak.

It warns that dharma collapses when rightful duties and disciplined conduct (śuśrūṣā, sadācāra) are abandoned, and when people adopt religious externalities without inner qualification or integrity.
By condemning mere outward signs (liṅga) and hypocritical identity, it implicitly supports bhakti as sincerity and right conduct rather than display—devotion must be grounded in humility, service, and truthfulness.
It points to adhikāra (eligibility) for Vedic duties—an applied dharma principle used in ritual practice (kalpa) and interpretation (mīmāṃsā-style reasoning), distinguishing authentic discipline from imitation.
