Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
This verse marks the formal beginning of a yuga-dharma teaching, framing dharma as a universal welfare-principle (lokopakāra) and presenting the speaker’s intent to give guidance suitable for different ages.
While bhakti is not named here, the verse sets up a yuga-based framework where practices—including devotion—are taught according to time and capacity, emphasizing what benefits all beings rather than mere personal attainment.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; it functions as a preface to applied dharma instruction (yuga-appropriate conduct and observances).
