The Greatness of Viṣṇu
Viṣṇor Māhātmya
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the dialogue setting)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It asserts the principle of “how much more” (kim punaḥ): if even an unintended act can bring auspicious results, then sincere, correct worship performed with devotion and inner peace yields far greater spiritual and worldly benefit.
Bhakti is emphasized as worship done with a devoted heart and a tranquil mind; the verse highlights that inner disposition (bhaktimān, praśānta) and proper practice (samyak-arcana) magnify the फल (result) of worship.
The verse indirectly points to correct ritual performance (samyak), aligning with Kalpa (ritual procedure) and basic mantra/puja discipline—doing worship in the proper manner rather than casually or incorrectly.
