The Characteristics of Devotion to Hari
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada, within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It urges timely spiritual practice: youth is presented as the most capable period for sustained Vishnu-worship and disciplined dharma, and it insists that practice be done with humility rather than ego.
Bhakti here is framed as Acyuta-arcana (Vishnu worship) that should be pursued when one has strength and steadiness, and it must be grounded in anahaṅkāra—devotion without self-importance.
It highlights sādhana-prayoga (practical application) rather than a specific Vedanga: the verse stresses proper timing and capacity for ritual worship and disciplined conduct, which supports effective daily religious observance.
