Dharmakīrti before Yama
इमं मन्त्रं समुच्चाय देव देवस्य चक्रिणः । भक्तिभावेन तुष्टात्मा उपवासं समर्पयेत् ॥ १६ ॥
imaṃ mantraṃ samuccāya deva devasya cakriṇaḥ | bhaktibhāvena tuṣṭātmā upavāsaṃ samarpayet || 16 ||
Matapos bigkasin nang wasto ang mantrang ito ng Panginoong may hawak ng Sudarśana—ang Diyos ng mga diyos—ang pusong napuspos ng bhakti ay ialay ang pag-aayuno bilang pagsamba.

It teaches that fasting becomes spiritually fruitful when it is consciously dedicated to Vishnu after mantra-recitation, grounding the practice in devotion rather than mere austerity.
Bhakti is shown as the essential inner attitude (bhaktibhava) that ‘satisfies the heart’ and transforms ritual acts—like upavasa—into loving offerings to the Lord (cakrin).
It highlights practical ritual discipline (kalpa-style procedure): proper mantra-utterance followed by the formal act of samarpana (dedication) of the vrata/fast to the deity.
