गोन्घस्य केचिदिच्छन्ति केचिच्चैवावकीर्णिनः । दण्डादूर्ध्वं प्रहारेण यस्तु गां विनिपातयेत् ॥ ३८ ॥
gonghasya kecidicchanti keciccaivāvakīrṇinaḥ | daṇḍādūrdhvaṃ prahāreṇa yastu gāṃ vinipātayet || 38 ||
May ilan ang nagtatakda ng parusa sa pumatay ng baka bilang (paglilinis) na tinatawag na goṅghā; ang iba nama’y nagtatakda ng paglilinis para sa avakīrṇin. Ngunit sinumang humampas sa baka nang lampas sa pinahihintulutang sukat, hanggang siya’y mapabagsak, ay nagkakamit ng mabigat na kasalanan at dapat isagawa ang itinakdang pag-penitensiya.
