Vāmana’s Advent, Aditi’s Hymn, Bali’s Gift, and the Mahatmya of Bhū-dāna
कुर्वन्ति विदुषो यज्ञान्विष्णुप्रीणनकारणात् । स चेत्साक्षाद्धविर्भोगी मत्तः कोऽभ्यधिको भुवी ॥ ९७ ॥
kurvanti viduṣo yajñānviṣṇuprīṇanakāraṇāt | sa cetsākṣāddhavirbhogī mattaḥ ko'bhyadhiko bhuvī || 97 ||
Ginagawa ng mga marurunong ang mga yajna upang kalugdan ni Vishnu. Kung Siya nga ang tuwirang tumatanggap at tumatamasa ng mga handog, sino pa sa daigdig ang hihigit sa Kanya?
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada on Vishnu’s supremacy and yajña as Vishnu-prītyartha)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It establishes that yajña is ultimately Vishnu-centered: the highest fruit of ritual action is attained when offerings are made as worship to the Lord who directly receives them.
By stating that the wise perform yajña specifically to please Vishnu, it reframes ritual as bhakti (Vishnu-prītyartha-karma), where devotion is the inner purpose and Vishnu is the final recipient.
It highlights the ritual principle central to Kalpa (Vedāṅga of procedure): havis (oblations) offered in yajña are intended for a specific devatā—here affirmed as Vishnu as the direct bhoktā, guiding correct sacrificial intention.
