Vāmana’s Advent, Aditi’s Hymn, Bali’s Gift, and the Mahatmya of Bhū-dāna
pretāḥ piśācāḥ kūṣmāṇḍagrahā bālagrahāstathā | ḍākinyo rākṣasāścaiva na bādhante'cyutārcakam || 8 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It declares that sincere worship of Acyuta (Viṣṇu) functions as spiritual protection (rakṣā), making the devotee unassailable by bhūta-preta and other harmful forces.
Bhakti here is presented as both refuge and safeguard: steady arcana (ritual worship) of Viṣṇu naturally dispels fear and hostile influences without separate recourse to fear-based rites.
While not a direct Vedāṅga lesson, it reflects applied dharma-śāstra practice: arcana/upāsanā is prescribed as a practical remedy for graha-type afflictions (a common concern in Jyotiṣa-linked cultural contexts).
