Narada (in dialogue with Sanatkumara tradition; instructional narration)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It frames worldly gain and loss as directionally conditioned “results” (phala) under dik-devatās, reminding the listener that fortune is unstable and governed by dharma and karma rather than mere human control.
Indirectly, it contrasts uncertain material outcomes with the steadier refuge of spiritual practice—encouraging a devotee to rely on dharma and devotion rather than omens of wealth or political success.
Jyotiṣa/nimitta-style interpretation: associating outcomes with quarters and their presiding deities (Kubera, Varuṇa) to assess prosperity, safety, and royal auspiciousness.
