तल्लुंबपापबिंबांतर्दृणौ व्याप्तरविघ्नभाः । अस्ते सावयवा ज्ञेया गतैष्यास्तिथयो बुधैः ॥ १६७ ॥

talluṃbapāpabiṃbāṃtardṛṇau vyāptaravighnabhāḥ | aste sāvayavā jñeyā gataiṣyāstithayo budhaiḥ || 167 ||

Kapag nakita ang disk ng buwan sa paglubog na may bahid—ang loob nito’y tila tinutusok ng humahadlang na liwanag ng Araw—dapat malaman ng mga pantas na ang mga tithi ay dapat tukuyin sa ganap na bahagi, na inihihiwalay ang lumipas na sa darating pa.
