Vyākaraṇa-saṅgraha: Pada–Vibhakti–Kāraka–Lakāra–Samāsa
धातुस्तयोर्द्धर्मिभेदे सकर्मक उदाहृतः । गौणे कर्मणि द्रुह्यादेः प्रधाने नीहृकृष्वहाम् ॥ ८६ ॥
dhātustayorddharmibhede sakarmaka udāhṛtaḥ | gauṇe karmaṇi druhyādeḥ pradhāne nīhṛkṛṣvahām || 86 ||
Kapag sa pagitan ng dalawa (gumagawa at layon) ay may pagkakaiba ng kani-kanilang gampanin (dharmī-bheda), itinuturo ang ugat ng pandiwa bilang may layon (sakarmaka). Kung ang layon ay pangalawa lamang, binabanggit ang mga ugat na tulad ng druh (manakit) at iba pa; kung ang layon ay pangunahing mahalaga, binabanggit ang nī (umakay), hṛ (magdala palayo), kṛṣ (humila/kumaladkad), vah (magbitbit), at hā (tumalikod/mag-iwan).
