The Exposition of the Saptamī Vow Observed Across Twelve Months
Saptamī-vrata-prakāśana
Narada (continuing an enumerative/definitional explanation to the Sanatkumara tradition; addressed to a dvija in the verse)
Vrata: Trivargadā / Yajña-vrata (alternate names for the same observance)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It clarifies that a single vrata may be known by different traditional names, and that its defining spiritual weight comes from correct performance (vidhi), especially homa, which links the vow to sacrificial discipline and merit.
While explicitly ritual-focused, it supports bhakti practice indirectly by insisting on disciplined, rule-based worship acts (like homa) as a legitimate form of devotional observance, where intention is expressed through prescribed sacred action.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied: the verse stresses vidhivat performance and homa-karma, pointing to correct sacrificial method, sequencing, and rule-governed observance.
