Adhyaya 52 — The Manifestation of Nilalohita (Rudra) and the Allocation of His Names, Abodes, Consorts, and Lineages
किं रोदिषीति तं ब्रह्मा रुदन्तं प्रत्युवाच ह ।
नाम देहीति तं सो ’थ प्रत्युवाच जगत्पतिम् ॥
kiṁ rodiṣīti taṁ brahmā rudantaṁ pratyuvāca ha / nāma dehīti taṁ so 'tha pratyuvāca jagatpatim
Sinabi ni Brahmā sa kanya habang siya’y umiiyak, “Bakit ka umiiyak?” Pagkaraan ay sumagot siya sa Panginoon ng daigdig, “Bigyan mo ako ng isang pangalan.”

Identity and function are stabilized through nāma. The request ‘give me a name’ expresses the need for definition and placement within dharma/cosmic order (ṛta).
Sarga: the establishment of a deity’s name and role within the created cosmos.
In mantra- and nāma-centered traditions, naming is not mere label but ontological ‘locking-in’ of a power. Rudra’s demand indicates that unformed potency becomes operative through sound-form (śabda).
