श्रुतिस्मृत्यविरोधेन कृतवृत्तिर्गृहे गृही ।
यत्र तत्र च तत्पत्नी तस्यैवानुगतात्मिका ॥
śruti-smṛty-avirodhena kṛta-vṛttir gṛhe gṛhī | yatra tatra ca tat-patnī tasyaivānugatātmikā ||
Ang maybahay (gṛhastha) na namumuhay sa paraang hindi salungat sa śruti at smṛti, at ang kanyang asawa—nasaan man—ay nananatiling kaisa ng loob at tapat sa kanya: (ang ganitong sambahayan ay ipinahihiwatig na pinangangalagaan at hindi nararapat guluhin ng Yakṣa).
