Adhyaya 35 — Madālasa’s Instruction on Purity, Impurity, and Corrective Rites (Śauca and Aśauca)
अभोज्यं सूतिका-षण्ढ-मार्जाराखुश्वकुक्कुटान् । पतिताविद्धचण्डाल-मृतहारांश्च धर्मवित् ॥
abhojyaṃ sūtikā-ṣaṇḍha-mārjārākhu-śva-kukkuṭān / patitāviddha-caṇḍāla-mṛtahārāṃś ca dharmavit
Ang nakaaalam ng dharma ay dapat ituring na hindi karapat-dapat kainin ang pagkaing may kaugnayan sa babaeng nasa karumihan matapos manganak, sa taong baog o walang lakas, sa pusa, daga, aso, at tandang; gayundin ang pagkaing may kaugnayan sa nalugmok, sa taong may butas o dungis na katayuan, sa caṇḍāla, at sa mga nabubuhay sa pagdadala ng bangkay.
