तमब्रवीद् रामवच: सौमित्रिरकुतो भय: । पत्नीसहित वानरराज सुग्रीव विनीतभावसे लक्ष्मणजीकी पूजा करके उन्हें साथ लिवा ले गये। किसीसे भी भय न माननेवाले सुमित्रानन्दन लक्ष्मणने उस पूजा (आदर-सत्कार)-से प्रसन्न हो उनसे श्रीरामचन्द्रजीकी कही हुई सारी बातें कह सुनायीं ।। १४ $ ।। स तत् सर्वमशेषेण श्रुत्वा प्रह्द: कृताउ्जलि:
tam abravīd rāma-vacaḥ saumitrir akuto-bhayaḥ | patnī-sahitaṁ vānara-rājaṁ sugrīvaṁ vinīta-bhāvase lakṣmaṇa-jī kī pūjā karke unheṁ sātha livā le gaye | kisī se bhī bhaya na mānane-vāle sumitrā-nandana lakṣmaṇe ne us pūjā (ādara-satkāra)-se prasanna ho unse śrī-rāma-candra-jī kī kahī huī sārī bāteṁ kaha sunāyīṁ || sa tat sarvam aśeṣeṇa śrutvā prahṛṣṭaḥ kṛtāñjaliḥ ||
Sinabi ni Mārkaṇḍeya: Pagkaraan, ang walang-takot na anak ni Sumitrā na si Lakṣmaṇa ay ipinabatid sa kaniya ang mensahe ni Rāma. Matapos parangalan nang nararapat at malugod sa pagtanggap na iyon, isinama ni Lakṣmaṇa ang haring unggoy na si Sugrīva—kasama ang asawa nito—at isinalaysay nang buo ang lahat ng iniutos ni Śrī Rāmacandra. मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The passage highlights ethical conduct in diplomacy: honoring a guest or messenger (pūjā/ādara-satkāra), speaking truthfully and completely (sarvam aśeṣeṇa), and responding with humility and reverence (vinīta-bhāva, kṛtāñjali). Fearlessness (akuto-bhaya) is shown as steadiness in duty rather than aggression.
Lakṣmaṇa, acting as Rāma’s envoy, is respectfully received and then brings Sugrīva (with his wife) along, conveying all of Rāma’s message in full. Sugrīva hears it completely and becomes joyful, responding with folded hands in respectful acceptance.
