Indradyumna Upākhyāna: On Kīrti, Smṛti, and Restoration
मही म्लेच्छजनाकीर्णा भविष्यति ततो<5चिरात् । करभारभयाद् विप्रा भजिष्यन्ति दिशो दश,सारी पृथ्वी थोड़े ही समयमें म्लेच्छोंसे भर जायगी। ब्राह्मणलोग करोंके भारसे भयभीत होकर दसों दिशाओंकी शरण लेंगे
māhī mlecchajanākīrṇā bhaviṣyati tato 'cirāt | karabhārabhayād viprā bhajiṣyanti diśo daśa ||
Wika ni Mārkaṇḍeya: “Hindi magtatagal, mapupuno ang daigdig ng mga mleccha (mga dayuhan o di-sumasampalataya sa Veda). Sa takot sa nakadadagok na bigat ng buwis, iiwan ng mga brāhmaṇa ang kanilang tahanan at hahanap ng kanlungan sa sampung panig.”

Mārkaṇḍeya is describing future degeneration (a prophetic, Kali-age style forecast): the earth will soon be overrun by mlecchas, and brāhmaṇas, frightened by heavy taxes, will scatter in all directions seeking safety.
