Sañjaya’s Report

The verse foregrounds disciplined resolve and responsible speech in a time of crisis: Arjuna, poised for war, chooses to communicate through a messenger in a formal assembly, indicating that even when conflict seems inevitable, one should proceed with clarity, composure, and due process.
Sanjaya reports that Arjuna, standing near Krishna and prepared for battle, instructs Sanjaya to carry his words into the Kuru court—specifically to the sons of Dhritarashtra—setting up a formal declaration/message to the Kaurava side.
