The verse grounds dharma in śruti-based authority: a place becomes ethically and spiritually weighty because it is associated with the primordial chanting of the Vedas and the transmission of the Sāvitrī mantra to disciplined sages. It emphasizes continuity of sacred learning and the legitimacy of guidance rooted in revelation.
The speaker points to the sanctity of the location by citing ancient precedents: the Lord once chanted the Vedas here, and Savitṛ instructed the Brahmavādin sages in the Sāvitrī mantra here. This functions as a testimonial to the site’s holiness and its role as a center of Vedic instruction.
