Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)

ऐश्व॒र्ये वर्तता चैव सांख्ययोगवता तथा । नैकतन्त्रविबुद्धेन दृष्टवा दिव्येन चक्षुषा

aiśvarye vartatā caiva sāṅkhyayogavatā tathā | naikatantravibuddhena dṛṣṭvā divyena cakṣuṣā ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Taglay ang dakilang kapangyarihang espirituwal, matatag sa Sāṅkhya at Yoga, at gising sa maraming sangay ng banal na kaalaman, si Vyāsa—na tumitingin sa pamamagitan ng banal na paningin—ay bumuo ng Itihāsa na ito upang ang katanyagan ng mga Pāṇḍava na dakila ang diwa, at ng iba pang maningning na mga haring sagana sa yaman, ay lumaganap sa buong daigdig.”
