परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269

गृहमेवाभिसंश्रित्य ततो<चन्ये ब्रह्मचारिण: । त एते दिवि दृश्यन्ते ज्योतिर्भूता द्विजातय:

gṛham evābhisaṃśritya tato 'nye brahmacāriṇaḥ | te ete divi dṛśyante jyotirbhūtā dvijātayaḥ ||

Wika ni Kapila: “May ilan na nananatili sa buhay-bahay mismo, at may ilan na namumuhay bilang brahmacārin (mapagpigil at nag-aaral sa kabanalan), ayon sa kani-kanilang disiplina. Kapag natupad nila nang wasto ang mga tungkulin ng āśrama na kanilang pinili, nararating nila ang pinakamataas na hantungan; at pagkaraan, ang mga dvija (dalawang ulit na isinilang) ay nakikita sa langit bilang mga nilalang na liwanag—gaya ng mga bituing nakalagay sa iba’t ibang dako—na nagpapakitang ang paglaya ay hindi bunga ng panlabas na anyo, kundi ng tapat na pagsasabuhay ng itinakdang landas ng buhay.”
