The Dialogue of Indra and Bali on Fortune, Humility, and Restraint

स्वप्ने हि रजसा देही तमसा चाभि भूयते । देहान्तरमिवापतन्नश्नरत्युपगतस्पृह:,स्वप्नमें जीवको प्रायः रजोगुण और तमोगुण दबा लेते हैं। वह कामनायुक्त होकर दूसरे शरीरको प्राप्त हुएकी भाँति विचरता है

svapne hi rajasā dehī tamasā cābhibhūyate | dehāntaram ivāpatann aśnaraṭy upagata-spṛhaḥ ||

Wika ni Bhishma: “Sa kalagayan ng panaginip, ang sarili na may katawan ay tunay na nalulupig ng rajas at ng tamas. Dahil sa pagnanasa, ito’y gumagala na wari’y nahulog sa ibang katawan—nakararanas at kumikilos sa panaginip na para bang iyon ay hiwalay na pagkakatawang-tao.”
