Rudra’s Omitted Share in the Yajña (रुद्रभागानुपपत्तिः — यज्ञोपाख्यानम्)
सो5कल्प्यमाने भागे तु कृत्तिवासा मखेडमरै: । ततः साधनमन्विच्छन् धनुरादौ ससर्ज ह
so 'kalpyamāne bhāge tu kṛttivāsā makheḍamaraiḥ | tataḥ sādhanam anvicchan dhanur ādau sasarja ha ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Nang inaayos ang nakatalagang bahagi, si Kṛttivāsā (Śiva)—sa gitna ng kaguluhan at ingay ng kapulungan—ay humanap ng mabisang paraan upang maisakatuparan ang kanyang layon, at unang nilikha ang isang busog. Ipinakikita ng tagpong ito na kapag pinagtatalunan ang nararapat na bahagi at kaayusan, ang pagnanasang makamit ang layunin ay madaling tumungo sa mga kasangkapan ng dahas, na nagbabadya ng tensiyong etikal sa pagitan ng makatarungang pag-angkin at marahas na pamamaraan.
वैशम्पायन उवाच

As an allotment or division is being arranged amid loud commotion, Kṛttivāsā looks for a way to accomplish his aim and begins by producing/readying a bow—an action that marks an escalation toward armed confrontation.
