Rudra’s Omitted Share in the Yajña (रुद्रभागानुपपत्तिः — यज्ञोपाख्यानम्)

The verse frames cosmic dimming (sun and moon losing radiance) as a moral-psychological omen: when adharma and cruelty dominate, the world is portrayed as losing clarity and auspiciousness, signaling ethical rupture and its consequences.
In the aftermath of the night events of the Sauptika episode, the narrator describes ominous portents: the sun does not shine, the moon looks lusterless, and darkness covers the sky, heightening the sense of dread and disorder.
