Shloka 53

ननु त्वाहुर्वेदितारं महास्त्रं ब्राह्मं विधेयं परमं जनास्तत्‌

nanu tvāhur veditāraṁ mahāstraṁ brāhmaṁ vidheyaṁ paramaṁ janās tat

Sinabi ni Sañjaya: “Tunay ngang sinasabi ng mga tao na ang pinakadakilang sandata ni Brahmā—ang dakilang sandatang makalangit—ay dapat lamang gamitin ng taong tunay na nakaaalam nito.” Ipinahihiwatig nito ang pagpipigil na moral sa digmaan: ang karapatang humawak ng pinakamataas at pinaka-mapaminsalang kapangyarihan ay di-maihihiwalay sa disiplinadong kaalaman at pananagutang layon, hindi sa pag-aangkin o ambisyon lamang.
