भीमसेनं महाबाहुं मार्गणै: समवारयन् । निषंगी, कवची, पाशी, दण्डधार, धनु्ग्रह (धनुग्रह), अलोलुप, शल, सन्ध (सत्यसन्ध), वातवेग और सुवर्चा (सुवर्चस)--ये एक साथ आकर भाईकी मृत्युसे दुःखी हो महाबाहु भीमसेनको अपने बाणोंद्वारा रोकने लगे ।।

bhīmasenaṃ mahābāhuṃ mārgaṇaiḥ samavārayan |
niṣaṅgī kavacī pāśī daṇḍadhāro dhanugrahaḥ |
alolupaḥ śalaḥ sandhaḥ satyasandho vātavegaḥ suvarcāś ca—te ekatra samāgatā bhrātṛmaraṇaduḥkhitāḥ mahābāhuṃ bhīmasenaṃ svabāṇair avārayan ||
sa vāryamāṇo viśikhaiḥ samantāt tair mahārathaiḥ |
Sinabi ni Sanjaya: Ang mga mandirigmang iyon—Niṣaṅgī, Kavacī, Pāśī, Daṇḍadhāra, Dhanugraha, Alolupa, Śala, Sandha, Satyasandha, Vātavega, at Suvarcas—ay nagsidating nang magkakasama, nagdadalamhati sa pagkamatay ng kanilang kapatid, at sa pamamagitan ng mga palaso ay sinikap pigilan si Bhīmasena na makapangyarihan ang mga bisig, mula sa lahat ng panig. Kaya’t nang mapaligiran ng mga palaso ng mga dakilang mandirigmang-karwahe, si Bhīma ay tila sinasalungat mula sa bawat dako.

A group of named warriors, distressed by the death of their brother, assemble and simultaneously attack Bhīma, attempting to halt his advance by showering him with arrows from all sides; Bhīma is described as being checked and surrounded by these great chariot-fighters.
