न त्वेव भीता: पंचाला: कथंचित् स्यु: पराड्मुखा: । न हि मृत्युं महेष्वासा गणयन्ति महारणे
na tveva bhītāḥ pañcālāḥ kathaṃcit syuḥ parāṅmukhāḥ | na hi mṛtyuṃ maheṣvāsā gaṇayanti mahāraṇe ||
Sinabi ni Sañjaya: “Ngunit ang mga Pañcāla ay hindi natatakot; sa anumang paraan ay hindi sila tatalikod sa labanan. Ang mga dakilang mamamana, sa malawak na sagupaan ng digmaan, ay hindi binibilang ang kamatayan na anuman.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of steadfastness in battle: true warriors do not yield to fear or retreat, and they treat even death as insignificant when duty and honor in combat are at stake.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pañcāla fighters remain unshaken on the battlefield; they do not turn back, because as renowned archers they disregard the prospect of death amid the great war.
