अथ शुश्राव तेजस्वी द्रोण: शस्त्रभृतां वर: । प्रमोहनास्त्रेण रणे मोहितानात्मजांस्तव
atha śuśrāva tejasvī droṇaḥ śastrabhṛtāṃ varaḥ | pramohanāstreṇa raṇe mohitān ātmajāṃs tava ||
Wika ni Sañjaya: Pagkaraan, ang maningning na si Droṇa, ang pinakadakila sa mga may tangan ng sandata, ay nakarinig na ang iyong mga anak ay nakahandusay sa larangan, nalilito at walang magawa dahil sa sandatang Pramohana.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores that in war, mere strength or numbers do not guarantee security; higher knowledge and disciplined use of astras can neutralize opponents. Ethically, it hints at the precariousness of pride and the heavy consequences that follow from choosing a path of adharma-driven conflict.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Droṇa has learned that Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons have been struck in battle by the Pramohana weapon and are lying stupefied. This news sets up Droṇa’s reaction and the next tactical developments on the battlefield.
