एवमस्य धरनूंष्याजी चिच्छेद सुबहून्यथ । उस महायुद्धमें भीष्म जो-जो धनुष हाथमें लेते थे कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुन उसे आधे निमेषमें काट डालते थे। इस प्रकार उन्होंने रणक्षेत्रमें उनके बहुत-से धनुष खण्डित कर दिये

evam asya dhanuṁṣy ājau ciccheda subahūny atha |

Wika ni Sañjaya: Sa gitna ng mabangis na labanan, paulit-ulit na pinutol ni Arjuna ang mga pana ni Bhīṣma—napakabilis anupa’t anumang pana na mahawakan ni Bhīṣma ay napuputol sa isang kisapmata. Sa gayon, sa larangan ng digmaan, winasak niya ang marami sa mga sandata ni Bhīṣma, ipinamalas ang walang kapantay na husay, habang ang mabigat na tungkulin ng digmaan ay patuloy na dumidiin sa magkabilang panig.
