भीष्मरक्षण-प्रकरणम् / The Protective Screen around Bhīṣma and the Śalya–Yudhiṣṭhira Clash

वासुदेवो5नन्तशक्ति: सृष्टिसंहारकारक: । सर्वेश्व॒रो देवदेव: परमात्मा सनातन:

sañjaya uvāca | vāsudevo 'nantāśaktiḥ sṛṣṭi-saṃhāra-kārakaḥ | sarveśvaro devadevaḥ paramātmā sanātanaḥ |

Wika ni Sañjaya: Si Vāsudeva—walang hanggan ang kapangyarihan, tanging tagapagpasimula ng paglikha at pagkalipol, Panginoon ng lahat, Diyos ng mga diyos, ang walang hanggang Kataas-taasang Sarili—kapag ang gayong tagapagtanggol ay nasa piling ni Arjuna, ang mabilis at magiting na anak ni Pāṇḍu, sino sa larangan ng digmaan ang tunay na makagagapi sa kanya? Itinatanghal ng taludtod na ang tagumpay ay hindi lamang bunga ng husay sa sandata, kundi ng lakas na moral at espirituwal na sumisibol kapag ang tao’y nakaayon sa Kataas-taasan at lumalaban para sa matuwid na adhikain.
