पाण्डव-वृष्णि-समागमः तथा अश्वमेध-अनुज्ञा | Reunion at the Kuru Court and Authorization of the Aśvamedha

अलंचक्ुश्व माल्यौघधै: पुरुषा नागसाह्दयम्‌ । पताकाभिर्विचित्राभिथर्थ्वजैश्न विविधैरपि

alaṃcakruś ca mālyaughaiḥ puruṣā nāgasāhvayam | patākābhir vicitrābhir atha dhvajaiś ca vividhair api ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Pinalamutian ng mga taga-lungsod ang Nāgasāhvaya (Hastināpura) ng nag-uumapaw na mga kuwintas ng bulaklak, mga palamuting nakasabit at iba pang gayak na bulaklak, at ng sari-saring bandila at makukulay na watawat. Ipinahihiwatig ng tanawing ito ang paggalang ng madla at tungkuling sibiko—isang panlabas na pagdiriwang upang parangalan ang maharlikang ritwal at ang naibalik na kaayusan ng kaharian matapos ang digmaan.
