Parīkṣit-janma-saṃkaṭa and Kuntī’s petition to Vāsudeva (परिक्षिज्जन्मसंकटं कुन्त्याः प्रार्थना च)

किंकराणां तत: पश्चाच्चकार बलिमुत्तमम्‌ | वेदोंके पारंगत विद्वान्‌ पुरोहितने विधिपूर्वक देवताको अत्यन्त प्रिय लगनेवाले समस्त कर्म करके फिर भगवान्‌ शिवके पार्षदोंको उत्तम बलि (भेंट-पूजा) चढ़ायी

kiṅkarāṇāṃ tataḥ paścāc cakāra balim uttamam | vedāṅge pāraṅgato vidvān purohitena vidhipūrvakaṃ devatābhyo 'tyanta-priya-lagnān sarva-karmāṇi kṛtvā punaḥ bhagavataḥ śivasya pārṣadānām uttama-baliṃ (bheṭa-pūjāṃ) samarpayām āsa |

Sinabi ni Vaiśaṃpāyana: Pagkaraan nito, naghandog siya ng isang napakahusay na bali—isang alay na may lubos na pagpipitagan—una sa mga tagapaglingkod; at sa tulong ng paring dalubhasa sa mga Veda at mga kaugnay na sangay, isinagawa niya nang wasto ang lahat ng ritwal na lubhang kinalulugdan ng mga diyos. Nang matapos ang mga gawaing iyon ayon sa tuntunin, muli siyang nag-alay ng higit na marangal na handog-pagsamba sa mga kasama ni Panginoong Śiva. Ipinahihiwatig ng talata na ang kapangyarihan at tagumpay ay dapat nakasalig sa disiplinadong kaayusang ritwal, paggalang sa banal na hirarkiya, at tapat na pagtupad sa itinakdang tungkulin.
